Filipovich modern secondary market

Modern apartment created on the secondary market

Modern interior creation of a bright space by changing the functional layout

The apartment was designed for one person – a woman who wanted to completely redesign her apartment from the secondary market. The client was most concerned with functional solutions and opening/releasing the space. The design process, as standard, began with gathering inspiration, where modern interiors came through very strongly, so it was clear that we would move in this style. The apartment didn’t have to be bright, we could use darker colors and wooden accents – the important thing was that it should be in a modern but cozy way.

After the inspiration stage and the examination of needs, we moved on to the stage of functional layouts. Originally, the apartment consisted of 3 rooms, a kitchen, a hallway, a toilet, a pantry and a bathroom, but in the course of the design work we decided that 3 separate rooms were not needed. In the end, we decided to additionally demolish the wall dividing these rooms with the hallway, so we could let in a lot of natural light from the very entrance to the apartment and create a sense of space without losing functionality.

The kitchen is a combination of modernity and functionality. It offers a lot of storage space and a large quartz sintered worktop transitioning into an island, which on the living room side also serves as a countertop at which you can sit. In the living room, the main role is played by a large RTV wall with decorative plasterboard and backlighting. The modern character is emphasized by accessories and furniture in rust color (hockers and sofa) and this is basically the only color theme appearing in the interior. Everything in a consistent color scheme that matches the whole apartment.

In the bedroom, we used a repetition of the structural plaster motif that ends at the middle of the bed. We developed the entire wall to the left of the entrance as a walk-in closet, which will hold all the necessary things and clothes. The bedroom is divided from the hallway by a loft-like sliding glass door to further open up the space and illuminate the hallway, which previously had no access to a window. The office is the last room, which can simultaneously serve as a guest room, thanks to the use of a sofa bed. N
