For the past few years, beige, gray and other neutral colors have ruled in interior design. Scandinavian minimalism, japanese style or boho version of light made calm, “safe” colors dominate. But interior design in 2025 creates a completely different way – the way of color, contrast and individuality. Does this mean the definitive end of beige interiors?
Why is beige no longer enough?
Beige has many advantages. It introduces calmness, makes interiors cozy, is versatile and blends well with natural materials. However, over time – especially in the era of the return to living away from home, greater freedom and the need for self-expression – beige arrangements have begun to be perceived as too predictable. More and more people want their interiors to reflect personality, not just trends. And this naturally leads to color.
Color is back in favor – with momentum
We noted that in 2025 the dominant trend in interior design is bold color accents, not only in accessories, but also in the main design elements: walls, furniture, built-ins or lighting. Instead of a uniform palette and neutral surfaces appear:
- Bottle green on cabinet fronts,
- Navy blue walls in the living room,
- Upholstery in intense burgundy or saffron,
- Accents of terracotta, mustard yellow and warm pink.
Such interior design enlivens the space and allows you to give it an individual character. Color not only aesthetically affects the senses, but also emotionally – interiors become more “ours”.
Our experience – more and more color in projects
At Nilen Concept, we observe this shift on a daily basis – and, importantly, actively support it. As recently as 2-3 years ago, most of the projects we carried out were based on beiges, grays and wood. Today, the proportions are changing.
More and more often we create interiors in which color plays a leading role. Green kitchen fittings, navy blue accents in living rooms, deep maroon in bedrooms, dark, saturated tones in bathrooms – these are no longer exceptions, but an everyday occurrence.
Many of our clients come in thinking that they would like something “different from everyone else.” We show them that color doesn’t have to be flashy – it can be elegant, refined, balanced. Properly selected colors not only add character, but also allow you to better use the potential of the interior – for example, visually enlarge it or add coziness.
We introduce color both as a detail and as a dominant element – it all depends on the client and the space itself. Thanks to our flexible approach to design, we are able to create interiors fully tailored to the investor’s aesthetics and daring.
Colorful interiors in 2025 – what’s trending?
- Deep greens and navy blues – especially in kitchens, offices and bedrooms.
- Earthy oranges, clay, terracotta – perfect for warming up modern arrangements.
- Black and maroon – as an accent in accessories, lamps, furniture finishes.
- Pastel blues and pistachios – in bathrooms and living areas.
- Wallpaper and fabrics with large patterns – introducing color and texture.
What about beige?
This does not mean that beige completely disappears. It still makes a good base and background – but no longer plays the main role. It can be a starting point for bolder compositions or a way to balance intense colors.
One only has to look at contemporary interior design to see: we are getting bolder. And that’s a very good thing. After all, an apartment is not just a space – it’s an extension of our identity.
Summary
Although beige and neutral colors still have their place in interiors, 2025 brings a marked change in direction. More and more people are opting for bolder colors that give a space distinctiveness, individuality and energy. Green, navy blue or deep burgundy accents are no longer an accessory – they are increasingly becoming the starting point for the entire design.
At Nilen Concept, we’ve been observing this trend in practice for a long time. We create interiors where color plays a key role – both on the walls and in the furniture and accessories. It’s not just about aesthetics, but also about creating an interior that truly reflects the client’s lifestyle and personality.
